It was raining in Chamonix when we arrived but you cannot let a little rain hamper your plans.  Gran Hotel des Alpes had most of the rooms available so we were able to check in and get settled. 

 

I did my washing but was unable to use my clothes line since this was only a shower but I always find a way to hang the laundry. 

 

Andrew lead us on the orientation walk in the rain.  The hotel had umbrellas for our use. The walk ended at Mountain Drop-Offs so those of us who had not booked our shuttle ride to Geneva Airport would be able to do so
