Steve and I had been talking about starting to travel but were not sure if we had the know how to take the plunge. Steve and I remember watching Rick Steves on our local PBS Station KQED in the early 90's, back when are kids were just knee high. It was a dream of ours to travel like Rick Steves showed on his programs.

 

So finally in 2011, Steve said "What are we waiting for, let's do it!  I had always wanted to go to Italy where my great grandparents immigrated from and visit my Italian relatives. Steve purchased Rick Steves Italy Guide book and planned our trip. After our great trip to see my relatives in Italy, Steve planned our next trip in 2014 and we drove around Ireland. 

 

In 2017, Steve was looking at  Rick Steves Website and noticed the My Way Tours. Steve had actually gotten the book for London and was going to start planning our trip to England when he decided to look at the My Way Alpine Tour. Steve and I never thought tours were for us because we do not want to be in a big group.  The good thing about a Rick Steves Tour is the groups are small - maximum of 28 people.  The hotels, breakfast, transportation and travel guide are included and you can choose your excursions. So we decided to give it a go.
